NATOMAS AWANA CLUB

Awana is an international children's program that we offer as a mid-week club. Kids ages 3 through 6th grade enjoy the excitement, fellowship, and spiritual enrichment of Awana each week.

For more than 65 years, Awana has been facilitating quality, Bible-based children's programs for ministries across North America and throughout the globe. Children learn to know and love God's Word, the Bible. They also enjoy challenging games, great interaction, and the opportunity to earn awards and win prizes.

Awana provides opportunities to achieve in areas that count for eternity. Awana is an acronym derived from 2 Timothy 2:15: "Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed."

In 2003, the Awana Club children's program was added as part of the ministries at Gateway Fellowship Church. During our time at Gateway, our club grew to well over 100 children and 30 volunteers.  We have always been a community ministry with clubbers from up to 40 different churches as well as unchurched kids.  Our volunteers come from a variety of local churches as well.

In keeping with our community focus, Natomas Awana Club became an independent para-church organization in June 2019. In September 2022, Natomas Awana Club will function as a ministry of Encounter Church Sacramento and will continue to serve families from the entire community.
